Jaalolu pronounced “JA LO LU” is a Mandinka word meaning Musicians.

Jaalolu is the home of some of the most notable Kora players to ever come from The Gambia and West Africa. We are extremely proud to be representing the late Tatadindin Jobarteh (Jimi Hendrix of Kora), Jaliba Kuyateh (King of Kora), Pa Bobo Jobarteh, The Bunkas, Mariam Jobe, Jah Cause (Abuke Chabu) to name a few…

Music Publishing

Jaalolu is founded to help empower African musicians who for many years hardly benefit from their creations. Most of the artists only have one income stream which is from live performances. At Jaalolu, we are able to publish their recordings to over 200 digital platforms including Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Boomplay, etc.

Rights Management

At Jaalolu, we care deeply about the creative freedom of our clients. Our clients always retain 100% ownership of their copyright. By assigning rights to Jaalolu, our rights management service protects, monitor and monetise catalogues on behalf of our clients from any improper use and or infringement ensuring everybody pays for the fair use of their works.

Monetisation

Historically musicians in Africa make very little from their music especially traditional musicians. However, with the digital advancements of the music industry, new revenue streams have been created and the new wave of musicians are gradually figuring out how to make it work for them.
